Year in Search 2020 : Top 5 of the Most Googled Personalities in the United States!

With 2020, came many surprises. It has been a year of grief and tragedy for the whole world. No one had expected such outcomes nevertheless it elucidates the positives, the whole human race came together & perceived the potential of oneness. More than 300,000 people lost their lives alone in the US. For the Americans, indeed this year was an agonizing one. Shedding their hopes from the Republican Party & Trump, 8 million Americans placed Joe Biden in the Oval Office in the yearning for a convalescent future. However, all bad things come to an end, and so does 2020.

As we’re just a few weeks away from welcoming 2021, Google has released its list of ‘Top Trending Searches in the US’ for 2020.

5.  Ryan Newman

The 43-year old NASCAR driver was the most-googled athlete in 2020 surpassing the likes of Michael Jordan & Tyson Fury. He was quite in the spotlight during the earlier months of the year as he survived a brutal car-crash at the Daytona 500 in February. Newman was hospitalized for two days with non-life threatening injuries.

4.  Jacob Blake

This 29-year old African-American man was in the news for a ‘not-so-good’ reason though. On August 23rd, Blake was shot and severely injured by Rusten Sheskeye de3  , a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was shot in the back for a brutal 7 times. The incident followed unrest, protests, rioting and several clashes with the police in many cities including New York, Minneapolis & Los Angeles as a part of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.

3.  Kamala Harris

Harris made history on November 7th when she was confirmed as the Vice President-elect of the United States. She’ll be the first woman in the history of USA to hold the office of the Vice President. She’ll also be the first person of color to be elected to the latter since 1933, when she’ll assume the coveted office on January 20th, 2021.

2.  Kim Jong Un

The 36-year old North Korean dictator or Supreme Leader as they say, kept the Americans intrigued about himself this year too. In May, rumors surfaced all over the Internet and it was presumably speculated that he has died. With no such authentic information coming from North Korea, Netizens googled about him excessively.

Yeah, you’ve guessed it right! The top spot in our list goes to the 46th President-Elect of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden. In a massive landslide victory, the latter defeated the incumbent president Donald Trump by gaining 306 Electoral College votes as compared to Trump’s 232. Biden also made history as he polled more than 80 million votes the most of any presidential candidate in US history.
